Dr. Jeff Thompson, a research psychologist at Columbia University Medical Center and retired NYPD detective:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>discussed key risk factors and warning signs<\/li>\n<li>clarified and separated common myths from facts<\/li>\n<li>provided practical tips for everyone, regardless of background<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jeff Thompson, PhD, is a research psychologist and scientist working in translational research \u2013 conducting research for the purpose of developing evidence-based and practical interventions, strategies, and practices for people to enhance their resilience; support their ability to manage crises, conflicts, and disputes; and prevent suicide.
